The UH-60 Black Hawk is the Army's primary assault and utility helicopter, used for troop movement, medical evacuation, VIP transport, and special-operations insertion. Current UH-60M and newer UH-60V digital-cockpit variants feature updated engines, wide-chord composite rotor blades, and improved avionics.
Derivatives include the HH-60W Jolly Green II combat search-and-rescue aircraft, the Navy's MH-60R/S maritime variants, and the MH-60M special-operations variant flown by the 160th SOAR. Production continues at Sikorsky's Stratford, Connecticut facility.
