Mk 22 Advanced Sniper Rifle

The Mk 22 Advanced Sniper Rifle is the military adoption of Barrett's Multi-Role Adaptive Design (MRAD) bolt-action rifle, selected under the Precision Sniper Rifle and Advanced Sniper Rifle programs for both SOCOM and the conventional Army and Marine Corps sniper force. A single Mk 22 chassis can be converted by the operator between 7.62x51mm NATO, .300 Norma Magnum, and .338 Norma Magnum in minutes by swapping the barrel, bolt, and magazine.

The .338 Norma Magnum loadout pushes effective range past 1,500 meters, well beyond what legacy M24 and Mk 13 bolt-action rifles could deliver. The Mk 22 is the principal bolt-action precision rifle now fielded across the U.S. sniper community and represents the consolidation of a decade's worth of caliber experimentation into a single family of platforms.
