The AN/TPS-75 is the Air Force's long-standing transportable long-range air surveillance radar, an S-band three-dimensional system that provides aircraft range, azimuth, altitude, and IFF identification out to 240 nautical miles. It has served Control and Reporting Centers from Desert Storm through more than three decades of continuous deployments across CENTCOM, EUCOM, and the Pacific.
The Air Force is replacing the TPS-75 under the Three-Dimensional Expeditionary Long-Range Radar (3DELRR) program with the Lockheed Martin AN/TPY-4, but TPS-75 sets will continue to operate and deploy through the transition. Recent service-life-extension work and gallium-nitride upgrades have kept the radar tactically relevant.
