The Amphibious Combat Vehicle is the U.S. Marine Corps' replacement for the AAV-7 Assault Amphibious Vehicle after the Expeditionary Fighting Vehicle program's 2011 cancellation. Developed by BAE Systems and Iveco Defence Vehicles, ACV is an eight-wheeled amphibious platform capable of ship-to-shore movement and sustained ground combat operations.
Variants include the ACV-P personnel carrier, ACV-C command-and-control, ACV-30 with a 30mm turret, and ACV-R recovery. Following a 2022 rollover incident that paused waterborne operations, ACV returned to full amphibious use in 2023 and remains central to Marine Corps Force Design 2030.
