The F-15EX Eagle II is Boeing's latest evolution of the F-15 line, procured to replace the aging F-15C/D air superiority fleet and to give the Air Force a long-range, heavy-payload, non-stealth complement to the F-35A. It introduces a new digital backbone, fly-by-wire controls, APG-82 AESA radar, and the EPAWSS electronic warfare suite.
The F-15EX can carry up to 22 air-to-air missiles and is a natural pairing for future long-range and hypersonic standoff weapons. Deliveries to the Oregon Air National Guard and Eglin AFB began in 2021, and the Air Force has set a program of record around 98 aircraft with potential for additional buys given Next Generation Air Dominance uncertainty.
