Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)
Definition
The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) administers DoW contracts on behalf of the program offices that awarded them. Its workforce includes ACOs, Quality Assurance Representatives, Industrial Specialists, and Earned Value Analysts. DCMA surveils performance, monitors cost and schedule on EVM programs, performs property management reviews, enforces the Progress Payments clause, approves purchasing systems under DFARS 252.244-7001, and supports small-business utilization. DCMA is typically the day-to-day government interface on major DoW programs.
Why It Matters
If you hold DoW contracts large enough to have an ACO, DCMA is your administrative home.
