The RQ-20 Puma is a 15-pound hand- or bungee-launched small uncrewed aircraft that extends the Raven concept to longer endurance, a stabilized gimbaled Mantis i45 sensor, and water-capable recovery. Its all-environment construction lets it land on water, snow, or sand without a runway, and its secure Digital Data Link supports operation out to 20 kilometers line-of-sight.
Puma 3 AE airframes have flown thousands of sorties for U.S. forces and coalition partners, including heavy use in Ukraine, and AeroVironment has paired the platform with the Long Endurance Puma LE variant that stretches flight time past six hours. The family fills the tactical ISR gap between the Raven and Group 3 UAS like the ScanEagle.
