The E-7 Wedgetail is a 737-based airborne early-warning and control aircraft selected by the U.S. Air Force to replace the aging E-3 Sentry fleet. It features a Northrop Grumman Multi-role Electronically Scanned Array (MESA) radar in a top-fuselage 'spear' configuration.
The U.S. Air Force awarded Boeing a rapid-prototype contract in 2023 for initial E-7A deliveries. The aircraft is already in service with Australia, the United Kingdom, Turkey, and South Korea.
