The C-130 Hercules, in production since 1956, is the longest continuously produced military aircraft in history. The current C-130J Super Hercules retains the iconic four-engine turboprop configuration but incorporates modern avionics, six-bladed composite propellers, and new Rolls-Royce AE2100D3 engines.
Variants include the KC-130J tanker, MC-130J special-operations, HC-130J combat search-and-rescue, and the AC-130J Ghostrider gunship, all built on a common J-model baseline. The C-130 is operated by more than 60 nations and has been adapted for firefighting, hurricane hunting, and ISR.
